Shubham Mathur's Portfolio

Welcome to my Portfolio! Here is a collection of many of the independent and team-based projects I have been a part of. These experiences have shaped my understanding of engineering and I am excited to grow this list over what is hopefully a long and innovative career.

Englover

Designed the first working prototype for an automated glove donning machine.

Human Robot Interaction Lab

Designed robotic instruments with 2 composers for a musical performance that pushes an audience's preconceived notions about music

Truck Plug Suite

Designed and prototyped a suite of products to expand on the safety and convenience experiences of truck drivers including a tester-extension combo and a wrapped extension plug

6 Sigma Black Belt Project: Ablative Heat Shield Reliability Analysis

Conducted a reliability analysis and FMEA for ablative heat shields and created a poster to present to Cornell students and staff at the 6 Sigma Black Belt poster fair.

Combat Robotics at Cornell Project Team:
Co-founder and Training Lead

Founded a competitive robotics club at Cornell with the purpose of bringing curious students together to build robots.

HydraPlant:
Innovative Product Design Project

Designed an aesthetically pleasing mechanical desktop plant and water bottle pair to remind Work From Home (WFH) employees through positive reinforcement to remain hydrated.

Toilet Paper Indicator:
Mechatronics Final Project

Created a light-based indicator to show when the toilet paper roll has been finished and remind the next user to replace it before sitting down.

CABG Clamp

Designed and helped create an alternative to sutures for use during Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) Surgery with the Cornell DEBUT project team. Submitted to the VentureWell DEBUT Competition in Spring 2020 and filed for a provisional patent later in the year.

The Trident

Designed an automatic marshmallow revolver for campers and enthusiasts alike to use when roasting marshmallows outdoors. The Trident prevents the marshmallow from falling off, rotates for even heat distribution, and can stretch up to 2 feet. Open Design Project for Mechanical Synthesis Class (Spring 2020)

Dual Piston Water Pump

Created a water pump powered by a motor running a dual-piston intake system for the Mechanical Synthesis Class (Spring 2020)

Patent: Power generation devices and methods for use with toilets

Modeling Project: Analyzing heat loss in mastectomy patients and designing a garment to rectify the problem

Publication: Robust Malware Detection using XGBoost Machine Learning Model trained with Hardware Performance Counter Data
